The Action Course
Learning the Art of Doing
Reading is an important part of my life. It sustains, energizes, and shapes me in ways nothing else can. Yet, with a certain breed of book, I find myself wanting a way to integrate the ideas into my life more deeply. It feels like the author is leaving me hanging. I didn't want anyone feeling this way after reading The Pocket Guide to Action: 116 Meditations on the Art of Doing - especially since the book's about taking action.
Thus The Action Course was born!
The course is a collection of high-potency tools for improving the way you see and operate in the world. They don't require you buy into hype. Like any good tool, they just require use.
Each section builds on an important idea in The Pocket Guide to Action and culminates in an exercise.
These exercises will get the ideas active within you. This is what's so effective about the course. Instead of downloading a bunch of new data, you'll be programming your own operating system.
The posture we need now is impossible to achieve through reading alone. We need to engage. Viscerally feeling our ideas in action is the only path to sanity or effectiveness in times like this.
I originally wrote The Pocket Guide to Action for myself because I needed to take a new posture towards the world. I created this course because I needed tools to live with this new posture more completely.
The tools and resources here continue to serve me well. They've already helped several beta testers take a more powerful posture towards life. I think you'll find similar success with the ideas here.
